Expanding Waste lines

Calgary continues to expand outward and the lovely land to the south west is being destroyed !
We make these housing developments of anoying roads that take a long time to get anywhere and houses that all look the same... Might as well live in apartments that are all the same...

If I was going to have a house I would want an old style one made of stone or some such, be different than the box housing going up all over...

We need to build up and down to conserve space and land not out where the farms, animals and water is....

Underground parking, malls, apartments, subways, and hotels would be of great benifit in a city especially in a low earthquake zone such as we have in Calgary.

Expensive, yeah, short term but long term quite ecconomical :)

Building up would be awesome with more +15 walkways and monorail systems linking the buildings we can be very space aged and we could have solar panels on the buildings and wind turbines on the roofs adding amazing amounts of power to the Grid cutting down our fule and electricity bills phenominally :)

And another thing... Grey cement... ugh... Cant anybody add color to the cement when they are mixing it ? Immagine a light blue or purple in the cement or even yellow or green :)

Bridging the Gap

I would like to see bridges going from -
Nanaimo to Vancouver
Victoria to Vancouver
and
south Vancouver Island to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State :)

We can and have done this on the east coast of Canada, and other parts of the world !
We can put up MagLev trains across and have bike lanes as well. This would do away with the fast ferry fiasco's and long lines and open up great possibilities in toursim as well as job opportunities in almost all areas :) Long and short Term :)

Alberta Future :)

Alberta has what, 5 Billion Dollars in surplus this term ? Immagine what you could do with that kind of money....

* Put 1 Billion Dollars into an Alberta Education Fund - That would build more schools,
better curriculums in existing schools and upgrade technologies in the existing schools :)
New textbooks, computers, and younger modern trained teachers :)

Montessore schools and Waldorf schools could be the norm instead of the old ineffective and out dated school systems :)

* Alberta could set aside 1 Billion dollars to modernize the transportation industry ! :)
Our Railway systems are a hundred years out of date ! We could be at the cutting edge of magnetic levitation bullet trains technologies...

and

we could be using monorail systems in the citties. Immagine the ability to commute from Calgary to Edmonton to work on a mag-lev train that travels 500 Kmph. Or being able to take a silent monorail from your residential home "buss stop" right to the 3rd floor of your office building :)

No grafitti and no CTrains blocking traffic :) as these monorails would abe like at Disneyland up on pillars that give a platform above the traffic level. And they are quieter than a bus :)

* We could put 1 Billion dollars towards citty planning :)
Immagine building up AND down instead of spreading out :)

Thats right, underground Malls and parking lots and even hotell suits that are underground. Hey if you are just sleeping than what do you need a window for :)

And a mall parking lot that is on the serface and the mall below the surface would save a lot of space.... You arnt looking at the windows in a mall anyway :)

* Immagine if we set aside 1 Billion dollars into Building more and better hospitals around the citty areas or better yet put it to health Care ! Thats right make Nutrition, Chiropractic, Massage, and Traditional Chinese Medicine part of the "Free Health Care System" so we can actually have Health Care and not disease care...

* And Just Immagine if we put ! Billion dollars into the Environment !

Egsample - Most refrigerators and other coolant systems take water from the air. In the average Restaraunt Kitchen thousands of gallons of fresh water get pulled out of the air by the freeon system. It condenses and little copper pipes drain the water away into the sewage.

SO - we put water filters on said pipes and we have fresh drinking water - California never need go thirsty again, and neither would Los Vegas or NY.

Most Air conditioners can be equiped like this and give of nice little amounts of fresh water as well :)
